updates....

First off a little poker update from last blog I made, which is on the 16th:

PLO: 2640 hands $3301.55

I am happy with this amount of hands in 7 weekdays of play. I also played a handful of sngs and mixed games hand that I don't want to deal with putting on this comp. Mixed game hands are so brutal to track btw.

I am really enjoying just crunching out hands vs weak opponents and is my plan going ahead the rest of this year, and all of 2010.

That said I just battled this kid who has ran up a huge roll on UB at 100/200 plo and had 25% of myself... it was a nice spot to be in but I was pretty fidgety as I have never truly been comfortable playing this high. He got up early then I was up 15k or so but ended up losing 3kish and called it a night.

Its pretty amazing how you just have to battle at even the mid/low limits now through rough patches. I have really enjoyed playing and getting back into longer sessions.

Just gonna play a bit tomorrow and get some things done, and probably relax and have good time with friends for thanksgiving holiday.

I have really been pushing through The Book of Basketball by bill Simmons, and its fantastic. I recommend it to anyone who likes Simmons or hoops.

My parents are doing a remodel on their house(adding on to kitchen, doing some things with the deck) and I will put pictures up when I get a chance.

Gonna keep trying to focus as much as possible and be productive.

Weekend...

Seems like a lot went on this weekend, but I didn't even go out at all.

First off the sixers and lakers both lost in these huge bets this kid made, but we got him back the next day in a college fball bet, and two more nba bets to be down just a little. I absolutely hate betting on games like this but with the kid paying 10% its hard to find that kind of return anywhere, especially the last year.

The cowboys game was an absolute nightmare and I don't even want to discuss it. I do not understand how good teams can play games like this year after year. AH HA! maybe they aren't good.

The colts pats game was the game of the year and the finish of the year probably. I liked the pats choice to go for it on 4th. They probably make that something like 75% of the time and then go on to win 95ish% of the time. Where if they punt and give them the ball they prolly hold them out of the endzone maybe 45-50% of the time. Whatever the case I am sure the pats have lengthy data on the situation, and made the correct decision. With that said strictly coaching off game theory and an OK understand of football I think my friends and I could out coach a significant number of nfl coaches in a lot of situations within the game.

I played a lot of poker this weekend which is great. Lot of mixed game action and almost done clearing a bonus. I will post results in the next blog.

Updates

Well last night survivor was just amazing once again. Russell finds the hidden immunity idol for the SECOND time on the season, its mind boggling. He is in decent shape to make a deep run and must be talked about being one of the greatest survivor players of all time. They are filming the next season heros vs villians imme after this season and russ is on that so he will have a HUGE advantage there as well since know one knows how he plays. I really hope he wins.

The bears niners game was a total snoozefest and I just quit watching it.

I have played tons of hours the last few days playing sngs to clear a bonus and its kind of fun lol.

last two days 4900 full tilt points(this is TONS of play): +1600

so while I havent played much plo I am fine with the last two days of productivity.

A buddie of mine just had someone want to make a bet on the Jazz moneyline with juice so he took it, and I just took part of the action on a HUGE bet. 76ers, brand, iggy, whoever else is on your team DO IT!

Updates

The weekend was pretty uneventful; everyone has really been taking it easy as far as going out.

The nfl season is really shaping up as we move into the tough stretch of the season. For those of you who don't know, I am a huge Dallas cowboys fan. They have not won a playoff game for 12 straight seasons, so I am used to the pain! They surprised the hell out of me with a great win in philly, and I am starting to get a little excited. Every time I feel this excitement they just give it away year after year though, so time will tell. They are starting the thurs night games this week, and tonight's game is a semi non interesting 49ers vs bears(I will still watch of course lol).

Not too much or any poker was played on the weekend, and the week has been a bit slower than normal my buddie Brandon stayed here Sun-Thurs while he was waiting to move into his new apartment. I did some some hands in though and those results are as follows:

1420 hands of PLO/limit08: $7184 (dont let this fool you I was down more in one of the days of the month)

68 hand of stud: $316

60 hands of stud8: $24

79 hand
s of razz: $249

I have been playing a few thousand hands of the stud games and I feel like I'm getting better, but my results are not showing it. I am down alot in stud high, and still down in stud8 and razz but showing considerable improvement.

I also played a few hundred hands of NL but can't track that so its about 2000 hands which is pretty good. Today I am going to play a bunch of sngs to clear a bonus. Its funny, but every once in awhile I enjoy playing sngs.

So its a nice start to my new mindset and before x-mas considering I had a friend staying for 4 days.

Survivor is on tonight, and after maybe the slowest start in survivor history the show instantly hooks me and proves why its so amazing with an amazing blindside of Eric last week. A few right moves and some luck and the foa foa team, who was all but dead, could pull off some magic in the weeks to come.

Going to be helping my cousin move into a new house this weekend and just relax the time hopefully play some poker.

Goals

2009 as a whole as been a pretty terrible year for me, along with numerous other Americans I'm sure. I need to start turning things around in all aspects of my life. Now I am not going to put done some gigantic bucket list of achievements I want to do in the next 6 months, because I generally will only get to one or two of things on the list anyways. I will come up with a few things in the near future I want to be doing, and they are as follows:

-play 1k hands of poker per day mon-fri

-send 250$ per day into an account to be invested throughout the year

-focus on strengthening myself mentally

-read more books on my kindle

That is all for now!

Introduction

Just an intro post to a new blog I will be starting and using as a journal in my day to day struggles of focus.

Any thoughts that I have for the day I will write down here.
